The objective of the Avian Influenza Control and Human Pandemic Preparedness and Response Project is to support the Government of Haiti (GoH) national plan, which aims to minimize the threat posed to humans by Highly-Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) infection and other zoonoses and to prepare for, control, and respond to influenza pandemics and other infectious disease emergencies in humans. I heard of influenza or people getting the flu but I’m not familiar with Avian. I notice it seems like a lot of people are getting the flu a lot, lately. I can remember about two years ago there was a shortage on Flu Vaccines. I remember hearing a story a while back about a 13 year boy passing the avian flu to his father. I know the father ended up dying and the mutation died when the father died.

What I find interesting is even normal strands of Influenza seem to be gaining strength every year. In my childhood, a single annual outbreak might occur- now, though it’s common place to get the flu 2 or 3 times a year as it mutates and generally the duration is longer then a decade ago.
