I don’t actually have much to say about this paper1 from Kay Grünewald’s group — it’s on the mechanisms by which herpes simplex virus enters cells, specifically how the viral and cellular membranes fuse — but the images (using cryoelectron tomography) are so gorgeous I feel like I have to mention it. Subscription-only, I’m afraid, but check it out if you can.
